Nice title! Nothing major about this one but I have finally connected a UPS (1500 KVA/900W) unit to the primary servers in the house. Based on the monitoring software, I went a little extreme and bought a unit that was 6x what I actually need for the servers (good news is they will be running for 30 minutes on battery).
Well I think I am done with the hardware, software, and router configurations for a little while. Just finished moving the servers from one Hyper-V configuration to a new server with a new Hyper-V configuration. During the prep for this move, I sort of freaked out on what was suggested (format, reinstall OS, and copy files) vs what I did (copy VHD, convert to VHDX, change 1 configuration file [LINUX]) and rebooted.
To quote Brittany Spears "OOPS I did it again". I just found out that I won a 5 day Staycation prize from KISS 102.3. The prize includes a Family Sized Spa for 5 days (provided by Oasis Leisure Centre Pools & Spas).
It took all week (last week), but i believe I have everything up and running.
Well I have been on vacation since Friday and I have spent everyday working on the new server setup. So far, phase one is complete (in house page speed server, GEO blocking, and cache) all working. I know why do you care? Well all of the work I have put into the server is to make these pages load faster and use less bandwidth - this way you have more cell data allocation for the important stuff (Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and porn).
