I have been a long time user of Logitech mice, keyboards, and most recently trackballs for my computing needs. Two years ago, I purchased the M570 trackball. Everything about the unit was great - 3 year warranty, 5 programmable buttons, ergonomic, wireless, and compatible with Macs and Windows PCs.
Well for the past couple of months, my trackball started to randomly double-click when I wanted a single left click only. Being the geek I am, I started looking at the software configuration (settings, version, etc) and then moved to battery issues. At the beginning of May, I jumped into the Logitech forums to see if there are any other suggestions. I found one - pull the battery, randomly click all buttons for 15-30 seconds, restore battery and should be fine. At first this worked for 1-2 weeks, and then quickly declined (I am lucky if I can single click within a hour of doing this process). Remembering (not really saw it on the forums) the warranty, I submitted the claim. It has been 10 days since Logitech's last communication with me (even though I have submitted two requests for update).
Assholes. Today I will be picking up a Kensington trackball from Staples. Here's hoping Logitech continues its downward trend to absolute failure.
